Establishing a photographic direction for Samsara


Celebrating an unsung workforce

The Samsara product was created to serve a sector historically underserved by tech. Drivers, fleet managers, public workers are just a few of the roles that benefit from Samsara’s operations platform. When I joined the company as Creative Director back in 2017, I wanted to prioritize getting real photos of our customers. Not only that, but I also knew I wanted to push the quality of the photos beyond what folks have come to expect in this space.

A true partnership

Partnership was a key theme on this project. First of all, we partnered with amazing photographers who were excited about shooting in more of a documentary-style, out in the field. Secondly, we also wanted to show that Samsara actually partnered with customers to learn more about their day-to-day needs. These photos were especially powerful in the early days as the company was still growing — as they communicated that Samsara was truly listening and interacting with their end-user and was not an out-of-touch San Francisco tech company.
